OUR PASTOR
Lay minister and pastoral intern Jared McLey is from Waverly, Iowa. Growing up Pastor Jared attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church & School, which is one of the numerous churches St. John Maxfield planted. He graduated from Wartburg College in 2022 with a degree in Religious Studies with an extensive study in Youth & Family Ministry and Theology. Pastor Jared was formerly at Kimball Ave. United Methodist Church as their Youth Ministry coordinator. He has also served at Camp EWALU for the past three summers. Pastor Jared is currently attending Wartburg Theological seminary as a member of the Wartburg College Wartburg Seminary collaborative BA/MDiv accelerated ministry program also known as AMP.
He lives in Denver, Iowa, with his wife Madison, who is a special-ed teacher. in Waterloo Jared & Maddie were married on June 18, 2022.
Both Pastor Jared and Madison are excited to be part of the rich history of St. John Lutheran Church Maxfield and St. John Lutheran Church Crane Creek Tripoli.

We are an evangelistic group of individuals who are united by faith and trust in Christ, into a church family. It is our purpose to grow in faith together and to encourage, support, trust and love one another.
By our different strengths, we will share God's goodness and grace with all fellow human beings to create a sanctuary of peace here and throughout the world.
